Do the terms REALTOR® and real estate agent mean the same thing?

No. Real estate agents and brokers must pass a state licensing exam, and follow laws governing real estate transactions. However, REALTORS® don’t merely stop there. As a REALTOR® I pledge to abide by a strict code of professional conduct. This conduct is outlined in the National Association of REALTORS®' Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
